Last week before we can pick the games apart. All week I hear the pundits asking or stating that the Chargers can't get over the hump. From a Charger fan originating in 1976 I can concur. Every year springs new hope. This year is no different, but it is not hype. This team is stacked, locked and loaded. I have 47 teams to compare and yes, we have had stacked teams before, and yes, we could not get over the hump. Always something, but that was then, this is now. The team can compete and win against anybody. The depth is like never before - do not underestimate the value of that. At this point what does the world want to see to drop the narrative that the Chargers cannot get over the hump? You win it all and then it is done and buried for ever and ever. The Bills and Vikes have been to the SB 4 times and never won! Are they over the hump? I know you guys are shamelessly positive and I love you for it. I know you have already declared that they are going to go 17-0 and win the SB, which clearly is an over the hump exclamation point. My question is this, specific to the narrative that the Chargers cannot get over the hump, short of 17-0 and a SB win, what does over the hump look like for you? Consider this: There are 12 teams that have never won a SB, that is over 30% of the league. 4 teams have never even been to the SB. Mathematically, statistically, luck of the draw, you name it - we are due. We are talented enough. We have paid our dues, but even after 47 years of not getting over the hump, I would still say that today my answer would be to make it to the divisional championship game. Then next year we can talk about getting over THAT hump if you want, but given where this team has been to me that should shut everybody up. Bolt up MFer's! Let's go! This is going to be a lot of fun! FTC.
